Volunteers

Who are the Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH) volunteers? They are the people who donate their time, skills and talents to support our hospital. They lend a hand wherever help is needed, including delivering trays, making crafts for the gift shop and spending time with hospice patients.

Volunteers make a difference because of the role they play in meeting patients' needs, providing essential services and lending support. Volunteers set an example for all of us. They work for the satisfaction of helping others.

As a volunteer at MRH, you'll enjoy many rewards. You will feel a sense of accomplishment, learn new skills, meet new people, make new friends and make an invaluable contribution to your community.

Volunteers have the opportunity to match their skills and interests with meaningful assignments. As part of the health care team, volunteers broaden and diversify staff efforts to meet the hospital's goal of providing comprehensive health care. There are many areas in which volunteer help is needed and scheduling is very flexible.

Auxiliary volunteers assist with:

  • Christmas walk.
  • Garden walk.
  • Greeter program.
  • MRH community events.
  • Additional activities (please call).

Hospice volunteers

You may hold the hand of a lonely hospice patient, run errands for a stressed caregiver, answer the telephone in our office or help raise needed funds for hospice services. Whatever your role, by volunteering you’ll help to bring solace and healing to those who are facing a terminal illness, as well as their families and caregivers.

Put your talents to work. There are many ways to share your unique gifts. Choose the areas that interest you the most, and we’ll develop an opportunity that best suits your time and talents. These areas include:

  • Community education.
  • Home assistance support.
  • Hospice residence.
  • Office support.
  • Patient support.
  • Professional expertise.
  • Special services.
  • Fundraising and special projects.

Our volunteers often tell us that they receive much more from hospice than what they give, and they give quite a lot. There is nothing like volunteering with hospice—and there’s no one else who can fill your shoes. Get started by calling us today at 800.635.7490.
