| Social Services are provided in all areas of the hospital - Acute Care, Rehab, Emergency Room, Extended Care Facility, and Hospice.
The staff is available to help you with an array of services including:
- Practical concerns
- Financial arrangements
- Adjustment into hospital setting
The team of social workers serve as an advocate to the patient. They can also help or provide referral service for:
- Emotional concerns
- Separation anxiety
- Long-term illness
- Terminal illness
- Substance abuse problems
- Physical abuse
Another role that social workers serve in is the role of discharge planner. They will assist with such needs as:
- Referrals to home care
- At-home meals
- Medical equipment
- Appropriate facility placement
- Support Groups

SUPPORT GROUPS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
ADULT DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
This group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Marlette Regional Hospital Continuous Learning Center
CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
This group will be meeting monthly the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe
STROKE SUPPORT GROUP
This group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month in the Rehab Dining Room
UNITED HOSPICE SUPPORT GROUP
- First Tuesday of every month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the United Hospice Service Office in Sandusky
- Second Friday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Country Gardens, Pigeon
