Dr. Donald H. Robbins, Jr.
Elected as Marlette Regional Hospital Board of Trustees Medical Representative
MARLETTE, MI. – In December, 2009, Marlette Regional Hospital (MRH) Medical Staff elected Donald H. Robbins, Jr., D.O. to the post of MRH Board of Trustees Medical Representative. This position will require Dr. Robbins to attend MRH Board meetings and serve as the liaison for the medical staff to the Board of Trustees. Dr. Robbins succeeds Saib Isterabadi, M.D. who served as the Board of Trustees Medical Representative for 21 years.
Dr. Robbins, a Board Certified Family Medicine physician, began his tenure serving the community through Marlette Regional Hospital in 1983. Dr. Robbins is currently Chief of Service for the Acute Care, Swing Bed, and Specialty HealthCare Departments of MRH. Additionally, Dr. Robbins serves on the Credentialing Committee which reviews appointments and reappointments of medical staff for the hospital.
Dr. Robbins is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Associate, Eastern Michigan Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is also a member of the Marlette Masonic Lodge No. 343, Elf Khurafeh Shrine, the Bay City Consistory, and the American Legion. Dr. Robbins has served as MRH Chief of Staff multiple times and is a former member of the Marlette School Board. Dr. Robbins stated, “I hope I can be as much of an asset to the Board of Trustees as Dr. Isterabadi was for so many years. Dr. Isterabadi helped guide the hospital through some very challenging economic times and helped it become the outstanding facility that it is in 2010.”
Les Phillips, MRH Board of Trustees Chairman, states, “The Medical Staff’s election of Dr. Robbins as the Board of Trustees Medical Representative is extremely important to our leadership structure. This position assists with open communication to our medical staff and allows a deeper understanding of our healthcare provider needs for leadership. We appreciate the insight and direction that Dr. Robbins will provide in this role.”
Dr. Robbins and his wife, Julia, reside in Marlette and have two sons, Donald III and Andrew. |
